Almost a week and what a difference! Instead of the terrified dog hiding at the back of her kennel, Stella is up front and centre waiting for her morning walk with her friends. Her little stumpy tail is wagging as she sniffs (and rolls) in everything. Today she was initiating play with the other dogs and even making it clear to Ferdy that she was a boss dog. With me she’s affectionate and cuddly, I even got some kisses this morning.
Although she’ll jump into her crate in the car willingly enough, once in there she seems to feel a bit cornered and isn’t so happy. Apart from my hurry in the morning, she’s a very quiet dog.
In the right home, with people who are willing to be patient with giving her a bit of space to get used to things, I think she’ll be a really loving and enjoyable companion. Well done Stella, you’ve come such a long way in such a short space of time.
